Eco Emi Review: April 2015

I always get so excited when Eco Emi arrives! Admittedly, this was my least favorite of the boxes I've received, but mostly because it's all about renewing products and I'm inundated with that kind of stuff. Sadly it's also the end of the road for Eco Emi, which they recently announced. :(

Hip Humanitarian Review: April 2015

This month's Hip Humanitarian box was the Beauty Box and it included several items. While I'm still not sold on the value of this box, I liked two of the items a great deal. I do like that each box is focused on a theme and that it's more of a lifestyle box than others. I also like the companies they source from (although I have had trouble getting much info on a few of them, including one from this month). Overall, I believe this is a subscription heading in the right direction and they're at least fair in not claiming they can offer the subscription for less than it costs them to operate it.

Tarte Miracles from the Amazon Product Review

I think I need to accept that I have an issue. Sometimes I buy things just because they're on sale. I don't wear makeup, but did that stop me from buying a six piece makeup collection when I got a great deal on it? Of course not.

One of the reasons I decided to get this was the variety of the kit, as well as the fact that Tarte is a quality brand. I am happy with the box, even if I won't use most of the items too often.

Petit Vour Review: February 2015

I truly enjoy Petit Vour, although I had to put my subscription on hold for the next few months. The winter has been harsh and our heating bill is pretty high so I've decided to pause a few subscription boxes until spring. As much as I love this box, I don't use the items quickly enough so I figured I would pause but I will definitely be going back.

Wholly Hemp Review: February 2015

I was really impressed by Wholly Hemp last month and upgraded my box this month. I had to find a middle ground for next month, just to balance the heating bill and also my excessive soap surplus, but this is amazing soap!

Wholly Hemp is a really awesome company in general, and their product is fantastic so I can't recommend them enough! Recently, Wholly Hemp was also Benefit Corporation Certified, which is a testament to the great work they do.

There were eight items in this month's box. Four were bar soaps and I'm so excited to have a huge stock of these! I'm almost done with my patchouli bar from last month, so this is a great arrival. The scents this month were Euphoric Eucalyptus, Secret Falls, Calming Cyprus, and Pink Grapefruit.

Body Merry's Cellulite Defense Gel-Cream and Hyaluronic Dew Serum: Product Review by Crafty

Body Merry's products are taking over my bathroom and I am okay with this! A month or so ago, I reviewed two of Body Merry's products and I was very pleased with not only the results but also the quality of the products. So when they offered me a chance to review additional products, I jumped at the chance!

This month I took on Cellulite Defense Gel-Cream. I won't deny that I, like most women who have given birth to three children, have had a weight problem that fluctuates. This, combined with getting older, means I admit that I have cellulite. The main areas where I notice it are on my backside and upper thighs, which seems to be pretty typical.

The other product was Hyaluronic Dew Serum, which helps to replace the moisture that is lost as we age. I have had a terrible problem with dry skin, especially on my face, for YEARS. It is something that started when I was in my late teens and has continued. This time of year is perfect for trying a product like this because the cold weather, as well having the heat on nonstop, means I dry out even quicker.

Review of Foxbrim's 100% Organic Rosehip Seed Oil

Lately, I have received a lot of skin care products to review. One of the most recent items is Foxbrim 100% Rosehip Seed Oil. Rosehip Seed Oil is used to help moisturize your hair, scalp, and other areas of dry skin. Since it is winter here, anything that helps with dry skin is welcome by me. Although I have not noticed any dry scalp or hair issues, I figured I would test it out on my hands to see if the dry and cracking skin at the base of my fingernails could be helped by something.

Rosehip Seed Oil isn't hard to use; you simply drop a few drops on your fingertips and massage into whatever area you are focusing on. For me, it was my hands, but really it can be used as an all-over body oil. The bottle also recommends that you keep it stored in the refrigerator to extend the life of the oil.

Wantable Makeup Review: February 2015

Guys, I have a problem and its name is Wantable. They are really the perfect company. Customer service is top notch, the products are amazing, everything is customized based on your preferences (which you can change with every order), and if you don't like your box, you can return it. It's risk-free, except once you try it, you'll end up like me and Crafty and won't be able to stop!!

I started with Wantable Accessories, and now I've ordered both Intimates and Makeup. I don't even wear makeup most of the time, but clearly that wasn't going to stop me!

One thing I don't need is more foundation/skin products, so I was clear to list that as a no on my preferences. I also made a note that I will only use cruelty-free products - and Wantable delivered on that!

Eco Emi Beauty Box Review: February 2015

I have such an Eco Emi addiction that I'm not 100% sure which box this is actually, but given that there were several full size items, I think it's the Beauty Box for this month! It is either the Beauty Box or Variety Box for February, but the Beauty Box ships first usually and also the variety box tends to include a food item and samples, so I'm going with that!

Crafty Reviews: Day by Day Blotting Paper

Day by Day Blotting Paper is designed to help absorb excess dirt and oil from your face. These blotting papers in two packs of 100, totaling 200 sheets of blotting paper. We were sent this product for review.

I have seen many other reviews of this product that state how wonderfully it works, so maybe I just don't have oily or dirty skin. After using them, there was no noticeable difference in my complexion or the appearance of my face at all. There was also no evidence of oil or dirt left on the paper.

Birchbox Men Review: February 2015

The Birchbox Men selection this month was a whole new world compared to last month, and it's definitely something I would recommend. However, I've decided I'll probably put my Birchbox subscriptions on hold from here out until they can commit to being cruelty-free. I feel like a company with this size and buying power should be the driving force behind change, and although they seem to be heading in that direction, it bothers me that they won't make it official. So sadly I will be waiting for that to change. I really did like this box, though.

The box was in a box with these no-show loafer socks on top. I had seen in my spoilers that I was getting socks (trust me - when you see the socks, you will understand that even if my husband had wanted to keep socks originally, there was no way he was wearing these). So when I opened the box and saw these, I was not happy. However, they appear to be a "bonus item." Neither of us will use them, but since they weren't officially part of the box, I don't mind so much.

NewBeauty TestTube Review: January 2015

NewBeauty TestTube is a bimonthly subscription box of various beauty products (at $30 a tube), as well as a subscription to NewBeauty magazine. This is a program heavily based on feedback and you're encouraged to offer your thoughts on the samples inside your tube. All of the samples are full or deluxe sized. We received this box for review.

Boxy Charm Review: January 2015

Boxy Charm is another beauty box subscription and came highly recommended. I was very impressed with the box and the products, especially since they're all full sizes and the shades were perfect. This is one of the more expensive beauty boxes, but the sizes of the products and the value make it worth it. I'm not sure about continuing personally, but only because I am trying to be more diligent about cruelty-free product choices. Although Birchbox also doesn't guarantee cruelty-free products, I've had more luck with theirs so far.

Petit Vour Review: January 2015

Petit Vour is a cruelty-free and vegan beauty subscription box. Although I'm normally not one to buy a lot of beauty products, especially monthly, I like this subscription because it ensures that the products are animal friendly. Sometimes it can be hard to determine what is and isn't cruelty-free, not to mention how hard items can be to find depending on where you are, so I love that Petit Vour makes it easy and helps me stock up on products I don't have to feel guilty about using.

Eco Emi Random Box Review

I have an Eco Emi problem, I think! I went and ordered a couple of extra boxes, because I just like this stuff so much. I think I'm good now, though, because starting soon, I will have the variety and beauty boxes coming monthly.

This review combines two of the extra sampler boxes that I purchased. One was entirely cosmetics and one appears to be the November box.

Blue Box Balm Review (Geek Inspired Lip Balms and Perfume)

Blue Box Balm doesn't have a subscription service, but I found them on Facebook and they were having a sale. In the spirit of geekiness, I had to check out the perfumes and lip balms all inspired by Doctor Who (with some Sherlock love as well).

Birchbox Review: January 2015

From what I can tell, everyone loves their Birchbox subscription. I haven't been thrilled with mine, but I was convinced to at least give it a few more months. This box was better for me than the last one, so maybe I ended up with leftovers last month or something. I do like the little boxes, so there's that.

Birchbox Review - December 2014

I was somewhat surprised to receive the December Birchbox, since I signed up late in the month, but it also means I only have to wait a few more days for January's!

Birchbox has both a men's and women's monthly subscription, and although I signed up for both, my husband has little to no interest in his before he's even seen it. That'll be interesting when it arrives.

To be honest, I'm not a very "girly" girl. I don't wear much makeup and I only need to buy beauty products once a year, but Birchbox is only $10 a month so I figured why not? I like some of the items I've seen in other reviews and I figured there would be items I would like, but after a couple of months, this is obviously not a subscription made for someone like me.
