Little Crafty in a Big City

Just before Christmas, my daughter's Girl Scouts troop started planning a trip to New York City. The girls have been working on their anti-bullying and drama badges so they were going to a workshop, followed by seeing Matilda on Broadway. My daughter begged me to go with them on the bus, but didn't care if I went to see the show, so in an effort to save money, I decided to take the day to explore the city instead. 

Cordskinz Review

So Boxy told me she was having Cordskinz sent to me to help keep my earbuds untangled. I didn't know that I had that problem, but decided I would give it a whirl. Cordskinz is one of those things that, once you have them, you think, Why didn't I think of that?

Cordskinz makes covers for your earbud cords, which help keep them untangled. When you purchase them, you receive two sets of covers (two covers in each set) for your earbuds. There is a variety of colors to choose from, including clear.

I received both glitter pink and lavender in my package and decided I would send Boxy the lavender ones to try. She doesn't use earbuds as much as I do, but she shouldn't have to fight with tangled cords, either!

All about Little Miss Crafty's Crafts

Today I am going to share with you what I have planned for the new year, what I have been working on, and some of the things that I would love to try! 

Goals

My goals this year are pretty simple. I have an Etsy shop that sits empty at the moment. With some encouragement from Little Miss Boxy, I have decided to eventually fill it with items to sell. The goal is not actually to plan on selling anything, but to have items in the store that could be purchased. The goal of selling the items will come later; right now, I want to focus on getting an inventory to have in the store so that it isn't sitting empty. If I happen to sell a craft or two in the meantime, that would be wonderful! 

Interests

My interests vary greatly, because my attention span is that of a three-year-old honestly. Things that interest me outside of the crafting world are reading, playing Xbox, watching Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey, and spending time with my kids.

In the craft world, I enjoy making all sorts of things with my Rainbow Loom from little donuts to dragons from How To Train Your Dragon. My most recent creation was Hello Kitty, which was really exciting for me because you can change her clothes! 

I generally get my patterns for my Rainbow Loom creations from YouTube, and this particular one is from Ellen at feelinspiffy. I also enjoy both knitting and crocheting. I have been doing both for YEARS now and I have to say I am not sure that I enjoy one more than the other at this point.

The Knit Kit - Review

For those of you who knit, you know there are little odds and ends that we knitters like to have within reach. You also know that because those things, most of the time, are truly little, it makes it hard to knit on the go. Then there was The Knit Kit.

This handy little kit puts everything you might need into a compact little carrying case. It is the perfect size to throw in your bag and take with you on the go. 

There are so many features about The Knit Kit I love; it is hard to find a place to start. I originally asked for this product for Christmas because I have trouble keeping track of stitch counts. I knew The Knit Kit had a stitch counter built in, and it was large enough that I wouldn't lose it in the car when it fell into the neverland between the door and the seat. The stitch counter on the kit is conveniently built right into the design and easy to use. My only complaint would be that there is no way to reset the count all at once; although it isn't difficult to reset it, it would just be nice if there was a way to reset it all at once. 

The next feature I really like about this kit is that there is a built in tape measure. No more digging through my bag looking for the tape measure that unraveled and fell out of the bag - and is now lying somewhere at home. It has a nice release button right on the front of the kit to retract the tape measure when you are done with it.
