Silicone Lego Style Mold Review by Crafty

Building blocks are essential to so many homes with boys. In our house, there is not a room that does not have a block in it. When I heard I was receiving this product for review, I was really excited to be able to use my imagination to think of fun ways to put these silicone Lego style molds to use.

Angel Crafts Transfer Tape Review by Crafty

For a person who loves to craft and create as much as I do, I have one very tragic flaw when it comes to crafting: I can't draw, or even cut, a straight line to save my life. Even with a ruler or rotary cutter, my pieces are still uneven, my letters are crooked, and everything has an uphill climb to it.

Since I scrapbook and create other items using letters cut from my Cricut, this is a problem. My albums have the telltale sign of someone who can't use a ruler; every title in has letters that are staggered or offset. I do believe, though, I may have solved this problem. That is, Angel Crafts has, with their transfer tape that has a grid, making it that much easier to lay titles or vinyl images straight. I was so excited to receive this product for review!

I have used transfer tape before many times; however until recently, it was hard to come by. I could order it online, but it was fairly expensive and I needed to purchase a large amount at one time. This was helpful for a big project, or if I was working on many projects at the same time, but not for simple things. My other option was to stop at a shop that makes signs and ask if I could purchase a small amount. In our area, these shops are becoming harder and harder to find sadly, which makes Angel Crafts transfer tape almost ideal. It comes in a roll that is 12 inches wide and 8 feet long at a reasonable price.

To try this tape out, I decided to make Boxy a cute little tumbler with our blog name and cat on it. I used my Cricut to cut out the letters in vinyl. If you are not familiar with vinyl, it has a sticky back, which allows it to stick without having to add additional glue or adhesive. Once I had cut out the letters, I cut small pieces of the transfer tape making sure I had the grid lines to follow for placing the letters. I then lined everything up the way I wanted it to look.

The next step was to peel the backing off the vinyl so that I could place it on the tumbler.

I placed the words in the positions in which I wanted them and then I used my finger to press firmly on the letter outlines on the vinyl. This helps to make sure the vinyl sticks to the surface once the transfer tape is removed.

One of the problems I have had with transfer tape in the past is that it likes to stick to the vinyl. When it's pulled off, this sometimes distorts the letters. It also makes it hard to make sure they are lined up correctly. When I was ready to pull the transfer tape off this project, though, I had no problems at all. Everything came off smoothly, leaving only my design behind (and where I wanted it).

I also took the pieces of tape I used and returned them to the backing to reuse at another time. I am looking forward to being able to create many more items now without having to use the staggered placement of letters to hide my inability to make a straight line.

Arts and Crafts Organizing Box Review

I have been spending a great deal of time organizing lately, including redesigning my crafts area. So I was very happy to be given the chance to review the Arts and Crafts Organizing box from CLD Brands. I also love how versatile this is, because it doesn't have to be used only for arts and crafts.

It is no surprise to anyone who knows me or follows this blog that I love to use my loom to create all kinds of interesting things. I was so pleased with the first set of loom bands I received from Rubber Band Bracelet that reviewing their glow-in-the-dark bands just made sense. These were provided for me to review.

Crafty Reviews Quick Stitch Sewing Kit

I love products that make my life easier, so I was excited to be able to review the Quick Stitch Sewing Kit. The compact design of this handy kit is perfect. It is just a little bit larger than a wallet and has a zipper closure to make sure you don't lose any of the items out of the case.

Inside, you will find a combination of items that are perfect for mending and even measuring. One of the items I was happy to see was the seam ripper. I have one but I can never seem to find it when I need it. Knowing that it is stored safely in this kit means that I won't waste countless hours searching for my other one.

Orchid Origami Paper Review

I love to make things; it doesn't matter what it is. Chances are if it is DIY or crafty, I will give it a shot. So reviewing Orchid Origami Paper seemed like something I would naturally want to do. It has been many years since I even attempted the art of paper folding known as origami, but with the plethora of YouTube videos out there, I figured this would be something the kids and I could do together. Watch a video, fold some paper, and have something really awesome to show for it.

Green Kid Crafts Review: Creativity Art Box

I recently received a coupon code to try out one of the craft boxes from Green Kid Crafts. I browsed their website to pick the perfect craft box for my son and me. Since one of the reason I am blogging and working with Boxy is that I needed to refocus my energy and that I am working to focus on my family and those who matter in my life, this company filled a need I had.

Green Kid Crafts is an eco-friendly green company run by a woman, and I am all for helping out companies run by women. Even more, I love a company that is eco-friendly. Started by a mom who is also an environmental scientist, Green Kid Crafts was a way for her to spend time with her kids without the extra work of getting the supplies and planning the projects. That certainly is one of my goals! I would love to spend more time with the kids, but the added time spent shopping and planning takes away from the time I actually have with them.

After looking over the site for a VERY long time (it was hard to choose!), I settled on the Creativity Art Box. I figured this was perfect because it included supplies for us to get started and we could use our imaginations to create something really cool!

Pipsticks Sticker Sampler Review

Here's a little story. I recently asked my husband what his favorite toys were as a kid, and he responded with, "A stick." He wasn't even being facetious. For both of us, childhood was a time of exploration and we could entertain ourselves with a stick for hours. I was thinking about that recently, because everything is expensive and requires batteries and assembly now. I thought about one of my favorite hobbies when I was a kid, and that was collecting stickers. There were so many little shops that had sticker sections and nothing was better than being given a few dollars to go select my choices. Stickers weren't sold with cards for $5 in packs; instead, you chose squares and could mix and match. I'm sure there are retro stores that still do that now, but it wasn't retro back then. :)

So when I came across Pipsticks, the kid in me had to try it out. It's been a very long time since I collected stickers, but I was instantly transported back to those memories. I ended up buying a sticker album and deciding to try this out for a few months. (Don't judge me.) I absolutely loved the variety of this pack and it will be so much fun to receive!

Little Miss Crafty's The Knit Kit Review

The Knit Kit - Review

For those of you who knit, you know there are little odds and ends that we knitters like to have within reach. You also know that because those things, most of the time, are truly little, it makes it hard to knit on the go. Then there was The Knit Kit.

This handy little kit puts everything you might need into a compact little carrying case. It is the perfect size to throw in your bag and take with you on the go.

There are so many features about The Knit Kit I love; it is hard to find a place to start. I originally asked for this product for Christmas because I have trouble keeping track of stitch counts. I knew The Knit Kit had a stitch counter built in, and it was large enough that I wouldn't lose it in the car when it fell into the neverland between the door and the seat. The stitch counter on the kit is conveniently built right into the design and easy to use. My only complaint would be that there is no way to reset the count all at once; although it isn't difficult to reset it, it would just be nice if there was a way to reset it all at once.

The next feature I really like about this kit is that there is a built in tape measure. No more digging through my bag looking for the tape measure that unraveled and fell out of the bag - and is now lying somewhere at home. It has a nice release button right on the front of the kit to retract the tape measure when you are done with it.
