Danish Dough Whisk Review

One of my resolutions for 2015 was to start cooking more. We aren't much of cooks, but we've spent too much money - and probably too much of our health - on takeout. We actually really enjoy a lot of variety (well, at least I do), but we are fairly inept in the kitchen. However, we've been improving and have begun to look forward to this part of our weekends.

When the opportunity came up to review the Danish Dough Whisk, I knew I was interested. Although I'm not much of a cook, I really love to bake. In fact, I considered going to school for it. We have also been making our own seitan, so this seemed like a great thing to try if it made whisking and mixing easier.

The product does not look like much - a large wooden stick with a metal circle/spiral on the end. However, I couldn't wait to try it!

Plated Meal Review (with Creative License)

I have so many great things to say about Plated. The food is good, the service is exceptional, and the recipes are really suited to our lifestyle. In addition, I've gained so much confidence through using them only for a few months because now I feel comfortable being creative with the recipes.

This week, we ordered three meals: Tofu with Citrus Glazed Vegetables, Quinoa Stir Fry, and Pasta. My husband and I thought about it a bit and realized we really liked the idea of a tofu stir fry, so we used the tofu from one recipe, along with the orange to make the Stir Fry a citrus soy ginger tofu mix, saving the quinoa and veggies for other recipes.

Wet Shave Club Review: February 2015

A while ago, I had my husband review Dollar Shave Club. He's not the most high maintenance person, especially when it comes to shaving, so boxes of product for shaving his face tend to confuse him. When I told him I needed him to try out Wet Shave Club's box for a review, he again did what I asked but was a bit overwhelmed.

Wet shaving is a dying art, but it's slowly being revived as people try to return to more natural and traditional measures in order to balance our overuse of manufactured (and often outsourced) products. It's generally ideal for those who allow their beards to grow longer, which meant we actually let my husband grow more stubble than normal for him in order to give an accurate review.

Eco Emi Variety Box: February 2015

Surprise - my Eco Emi Variety Box is awesome! ;) (Of course it is, because it always is!) I recently decided to stick to the Variety Box over the Beauty Box, at least until winter and the heating costs pass, because I think I prefer it. Sure the samples are smaller, but it's more loaded and I find myself exposed to a greater variety of brands. I'm happy to buy things I like and I get so many great products from Eco Emi.

Every month, the items come wrapped in tissue paper and sealed. Inside were rose petals and an info card, and the beauty products were wrapped in their own bag. I love the detail and effort put into this box. Again, I really can't stress how amazing everything Eco Emi does is.

Petit Vour Review: February 2015

I truly enjoy Petit Vour, although I had to put my subscription on hold for the next few months. The winter has been harsh and our heating bill is pretty high so I've decided to pause a few subscription boxes until spring. As much as I love this box, I don't use the items quickly enough so I figured I would pause but I will definitely be going back.

Wholly Hemp Review: February 2015

I was really impressed by Wholly Hemp last month and upgraded my box this month. I had to find a middle ground for next month, just to balance the heating bill and also my excessive soap surplus, but this is amazing soap!

Wholly Hemp is a really awesome company in general, and their product is fantastic so I can't recommend them enough! Recently, Wholly Hemp was also Benefit Corporation Certified, which is a testament to the great work they do.

There were eight items in this month's box. Four were bar soaps and I'm so excited to have a huge stock of these! I'm almost done with my patchouli bar from last month, so this is a great arrival. The scents this month were Euphoric Eucalyptus, Secret Falls, Calming Cyprus, and Pink Grapefruit.

Goals: March 2015

Well, we did okay last month, and although we had some weak moments, we aren't going to use the excuse that February is a short month. Instead, we will move forward and do even better in March!

Pedisoft Callus Remover Review and Giveaway by Crafty

I hate to admit this almost but when Boxy told me that we had the opportunity to review the Pedisoft Callus Remover, I was a little giddy inside. I know it isn't the type of thing most people get excited about, but for me this was a big deal, especially if it actually worked.

Here is the scoop on why I needed this product so badly and needed it to work even more. I hate shoes. I hate them. In the summer, if I have to wear shoes, they're flip flops; in the winter, I generally run around barefoot at home and wear sneakers if I have to leave the house. I don't even like to wear socks, with the exception of this winter since it has been in subzero temperatures more often than not.

With that said, my feet over the years have built up a very large amount of calluses, and they are impossible to remove. I have had pedicures, I have tried the miracle soak that I saw on Pinterest, I have bought gadget after gadget to try to help, as well as cream after cream - all to no avail. It is actually so bad that about a year ago, my daughter said to me, "Mommy, what do I have to do so that my feet don't end up like that?" My gross feet were the topic of conversation for days because she was so worried her feet would get gross like Mommy's. :(
