Crafty Reviews Quick Stitch Sewing Kit

I love products that make my life easier, so I was excited to be able to review the Quick Stitch Sewing Kit. The compact design of this handy kit is perfect. It is just a little bit larger than a wallet and has a zipper closure to make sure you don't lose any of the items out of the case. 

Inside, you will find a combination of items that are perfect for mending and even measuring. One of the items I was happy to see was the seam ripper. I have one but I can never seem to find it when I need it. Knowing that it is stored safely in this kit means that I won't waste countless hours searching for my other one.

Orchid Origami Paper Review

I love to make things; it doesn't matter what it is. Chances are if it is DIY or crafty, I will give it a shot. So reviewing Orchid Origami Paper seemed like something I would naturally want to do. It has been many years since I even attempted the art of paper folding known as origami, but with the plethora of YouTube videos out there, I figured this would be something the kids and I could do together. Watch a video, fold some paper, and have something really awesome to show for it.

Green Kid Crafts Review: Creativity Art Box

I recently received a coupon code to try out one of the craft boxes from Green Kid Crafts. I browsed their website to pick the perfect craft box for my son and me. Since one of the reason I am blogging and working with Boxy is that I needed to refocus my energy and that I am working to focus on my family and those who matter in my life, this company filled a need I had.

Green Kid Crafts is an eco-friendly green company run by a woman, and I am all for helping out companies run by women. Even more, I love a company that is eco-friendly. Started by a mom who is also an environmental scientist, Green Kid Crafts was a way for her to spend time with her kids without the extra work of getting the supplies and planning the projects. That certainly is one of my goals! I would love to spend more time with the kids, but the added time spent shopping and planning takes away from the time I actually have with them. 

After looking over the site for a VERY long time (it was hard to choose!), I settled on the Creativity Art Box. I figured this was perfect because it included supplies for us to get started and we could use our imaginations to create something really cool!

Darby Smart Review: January 2015

Little Miss Crafty has been eyeing Darby Smart for some time, so when they sent over a discount coupon code, she was on it! She was given the choice of any one of their products, with the exception of the monthly subscription kit. It ended up taking two visits at an hour each to finally decide. Here's her review/experience with DarbySmart. 

Darby Smart's individual craft items, as well as the craft kits, are separated into nice categories. You could also be like me and just show all, continuing to search through and hoping you won’t end up adding everything to your cart. I decided eventually to filter by kits and kids, since I liked the idea of it all being in one pack - and I wanted to include the kids in the crafting.

I looked through the choices, and there were so many options! There was DIY bubble gum (this is awesome, but one of my kids just swallows gum without chewing it), a kids' knit book (I thought about getting this for the oldest and only girl in the house, but I wanted something we could all share in), and even Glitter mugs (which I might be buying sometime in the near future).

I finally settled on Magnetic Terrariums. This seemed like a good choice for many reasons: a) the price was right, b) there were three in a set, which is perfect and allowed each kid to make one, and c) my husband had asked for a funky terrarium for Christmas and never got it. Since his birthday is coming up, I figured this could be a cute handmade gift for him. Also, they will stick to his desk, which is even better.

All about Little Miss Crafty's Crafts

Today I am going to share with you what I have planned for the new year, what I have been working on, and some of the things that I would love to try! 

Goals

My goals this year are pretty simple. I have an Etsy shop that sits empty at the moment. With some encouragement from Little Miss Boxy, I have decided to eventually fill it with items to sell. The goal is not actually to plan on selling anything, but to have items in the store that could be purchased. The goal of selling the items will come later; right now, I want to focus on getting an inventory to have in the store so that it isn't sitting empty. If I happen to sell a craft or two in the meantime, that would be wonderful! 

Interests

My interests vary greatly, because my attention span is that of a three-year-old honestly. Things that interest me outside of the crafting world are reading, playing Xbox, watching Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey, and spending time with my kids.

In the craft world, I enjoy making all sorts of things with my Rainbow Loom from little donuts to dragons from How To Train Your Dragon. My most recent creation was Hello Kitty, which was really exciting for me because you can change her clothes! 

I generally get my patterns for my Rainbow Loom creations from YouTube, and this particular one is from Ellen at feelinspiffy. I also enjoy both knitting and crocheting. I have been doing both for YEARS now and I have to say I am not sure that I enjoy one more than the other at this point.
